Most of the time it is much easier to just replace what you have instead of trying to get a few more years out of it. That may be fine in some instances, but many of the things that you buy new today are not made nearly as well as something that is just three years old.
So if you think the defective item can be fixed and you want to give it a try let us help you here if we can. If you don't see what you have that needs fixing already posted just submit a request in the comment form and we will do what we can to find answers for you.
Taking the time to study how something works and figuring out how to fix it is a very rewarding experience. It gives you more self-confidence being around machinery if you have a better understanding of how it works.
Why buy something new if you don't have to, save your money and fix it up yourself instead. You don't need a lot of tools to fix everything; some times a small toolkit will suffice. Working on a car is another story, you will need a set of wrenches for that plus some sockets will be a good idea as well.
Usually you can rent the big tools that you will need for a short period of time so you don't have to spend money on tools that you will only use once-in-a-while. Smaller tools should be bought because a good toolkit containing good quality small tools is difficult to find, and they can be used around the house for many things.
